But it has been photographing wedding and couples that I find the most fun and rewarding. I have found loving hearts, wild souls, and adventurous spirits to be my type of people. I strive to visually capture the “spirit” of my subjects and record an emotional memory of the occasion. I have been lucky enough to be doing just that full time for the past 4 years!
I graduated from University of California Davis with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Technology Management. In my free time I like to hike, travel, and watch New Girl and How I met your Mother. You will most likely find me stuffing my face with either Indian or Thai food, but of course I also love some good mexican food!
I recently decided I wanted to live in a warm and beachy town so I moved to the beautiful San Diego area with my pup Zoey! I have always loved the beach and it is one of my absolute favorite locations to shoot at!
My intention with every couple is to create an experience that feels effortless, personal, and deeply rooted in trust, so you can be fully present on one of the most meaningful days of your life. While I personally photograph most of the weddings I book, I also work with a team of hand-selected associate photographers if I am personally unavailable on your day. Either way, the full experience is guided and delivered by me.
I was raised in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California. I was drawn to photography in middle school and would enter photos of our family pets or family backpacking trips in our local county fair. My passion for photography grew while working as a hiking guide in Yosemite National Park. I mean… who wouldn’t want a stunning photo of Half Dome? El Capitan? Yosemite Falls?
While Katie Clare Photography started as a one-woman show, it’s grown into a small but mighty team of creatives who share the same heart for storytelling and capturing people as they truly are.
Over time, I realized that photos alone didn’t always feel like enough — some moments just beg to be experienced in motion or preserved on dreamy film. That’s why I added videography, film photography, and content creation to the team: to give you more ways to relive the day, your way.
Our mission is simple: to tell your story with intention, warmth, and artistry — and to do it in a way that makes you feel fully seen and celebrated.
